OUR STAFF
Our staff are our most valued resource. We are committed to supporting and encouraging every member of our team to develop their skills, achieve higher qualifications and explore their individual passions within our setting.
We believe that when staff are able to share their interests and expertise with the children, it creates rich and meaningful learning experiences. Whether it is tending our allotment and orchard, organising cooking activities, singing and dancing, or supporting children with additional needs, we encourage our staff to share their enthusiasm and talents with the children.
We believe that happy, fulfilled and motivated staff create a positive, nurturing and stimulating environment in which children feel safe, secure and able to thrive.
Many members of our team have been part of Sunrise for over 10 years, with several recently celebrating an incredible 20 years with us. Their dedication and commitment to caring for children is truly exceptional. They remain as enthusiastic and passionate about supporting children's development as they were when they first joined us. These staff have helped so many local children on their journeys and we always welcome visits from our 'grown up' children!
All staff are DBS checked and trained in Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene, Safeguarding, Behaviour Management
and in the use of our on site Defibrillator. Most of our staff are NVQ Level 3 qualified in Early Years Education or above with several working towards Level 4 and 5 qualifications. Please request a brochure to see a full breakdown of staff qualifications by room.
Our Manager Lisa Sennewald has been with us since 2006, working her way up through the nursery. Her passion lay with the Baby Toddlers where she was an excellent Room Leader for many years before progressing to Deputy Manager then finally to Manager. She has a thorough understanding of all ages within the nursery and works passionately to ensure that both staff and children receive everything they need to facilitate outstanding learning opportunities . She is still very drawn to spending time with the children and can often be found dancing around with the Baby Toddlers.
We pride ourselves on developing strong, positive relationships with parents and carers. We understand how important regular communication is and always make time to provide detailed feedback at the end of each day.
We also keep parents regularly updated through Tapestry, our online learning journal, where we share photographs and observations of their child's experiences, learning and development.
A member of our Management Team is always available to discuss any questions, concerns or issues you may have. We are committed to providing the highest possible standard of care and service and greatly value the feedback we receive from our families.
We actively welcome suggestions and are always keen to listen to our parents and carers, using their feedback to continually improve our nursery and make life as easy and enjoyable as possible for the families we support.
