Welcome to the Baby Room!

Our Baby Room offers a calm, homely, fun and loving environment in which your little one can grow and thrive.

We understand the apprehension that some parents may have when their baby starts nursery.  Our team of dedicated staff will continue to follow home routines within the nursery, providing a consistency of care that ensures your child feels happy and secure.  We understand that each child is an individual and are happy to support you with any particular requirements that you or your baby may have.

The Baby Room has its own kitchen where healthy snacks are made along with daily homemade bread. The babies will be offered a fruit-based morning snack at 9:30am, followed by a home cooked lunch provided by our onsite chef and at 3:30pm we offer a balanced afternoon tea which will include our delicious homemade bread.  Within the kitchen the Baby Room has a designated milk kitchen to prepare your babies bottles, whether that be breast milk, formula or cow’s milk.  When it comes to weaning your child, the staff will be directed by you. We will only introduce foods at nursery once they have been tried and tested at home. The staff help and encourage all types of weaning from adult led to child led weaning – we don’t mind how messy meal times can get!!

We understand that it can be hard to leave your baby at nursery.  You are always welcome to call the manger who can pop into the baby room, check on your baby and give you an update on how they are.

Within our Baby Room we have a maximum of 12 babies. The ratio is 1:3 - one member of staff to three babies.

Our Activities

As the children become more mobile, they are able to exercise and explore more independently. The Baby Room allows children to do this in a safe and stimulating environment whilst still having caring staff to support their individual routines and help move them forward with their development.  All resources within this room are age and stage appropriate and staff understand that they too are an important resource, supporting the children with their overall development and building on their communication and language skills.

The Baby Room is set up to give babies plenty of room to explore and investigate their environment.  The environment and resources provided, focus strongly on exploratory, investigatory, and sensory experience.  Some of the activities we enjoy in our Baby Room are listening to stories and nursery rhymes in our cosy quiet area, exploring books independently, singing and playing musical instruments, tumbling and rolling with our soft play, jumping, running and climbing, role play house and other imaginative play, building and construction, discovery with our treasure baskets and exploring sensory bottles and walks around the nursery site to the Millennium Green. We also love sensory exploration with sand, water, foam, paint, gloop and lots more.
